"As long as people have hands, some will try to use them carefully, attentively, and with passion. The theater of skill will never become obsolete. Count on it."

About Me

Welcome to my website!

I am a fourth year Industrial Design student at the University of Cincinnati with an interest in furniture, lighting, sustainability, and functional art.

My goal is to improve the lives of others not only through the health of the earth, but through a healthy state of mind. Incorporating these values into my designs is what makes me passionate and excited to see it through to the end.

I love spending time outdoors and exploring new places. You can often find me snowboarding, rock climbing, crocheting, or trying out any new activity I can get my hands on. I have visited or lived in 7 countries in the past year. I am a firm believer in living life to the fullest because new experiences inspire unique design.

Some of my adventures

On-Track

Brief:

“Rewind to stay On-Track”

Young adults of the 2020’s love the idea of retro technology, but we have a modern piece of technology that kills attention span and work ethic: the smart phone.

On-Track acts as a schedule and timer to combat the negative effects of smartphones.

Goals:

Create a product that helps young adults unplug in order to stay on track in school.

15%
of college students have an attention deficit disorder.

With the increasing presence of technology in society, many people struggle to regulate their screen time. This can be detrimental to productivity

25 minute intervals
are a proven effective method for working. By focusing for 25 minutes at a time, the brain does not get fatigued as quickly, and stimulation is integrated into study time.

Function

1) Write a homework schedule on the dry erase “vinyl”.

2) Place a smartphone on the weight sensor at the base of the product.

3) The weight sensor triggers a 25 minute timer in which time the user works without distraction.

4) A blacklight is also triggered which illuminates the white writing on the vinyl.

5) When the timer ends, an LED ring lights up with different colors, signaling to te user that they may now take a break.

6) These intervals repeat until the task is completed, upon which the user may rotate the vinyl to illuminate the next task.

Inspiration

Largely inspired by portable record players from the 80’s, I wanted to tie in the soft curves that often come with retro forms to make it recognizable.
